Russia v's Ukraine

A little over a week ago, like most people, I woke to the news that Russia had launched an attack against Ukraine. I will admit, when I first heard the news I didn't think much of it. Two countries fighting one another is not really uncommon. I know that sounds a little arrogant in spite of what is going on at the moment, but that is honesty. I come from a very proud state (Texas) located inside of a super power (USA). A place where civilians do not witness war nor do we have it at our front doors. However, hearing and seeing what has unfolded over this past week seems more like a sci-fi novel than reality, but it is very REAL. It's sad, but even more so it's sickening to know that thousands of people are loosing their lives over the greed of one man.

As I helplessly sit back and watch from afar, I can't help but to think of how talented President Putin is. I mean, in a matter of days he has turned not a nation, but the entire world against him. Quickly crippling his people and his country for the power that he will NEVER gain, regardless of the outcome. He is literally tying the noose around his own neck and lowering himself into the depths of no return. What I find even more ironic is that he foolishly believed that he could take over a country so easily. I suppose he wasn't expecting people to fight or even die for what is theirs.

Speaking of those people, President Salinsky and the Ukraine people, "YOU ARE SPARTA!!!"You will truly go down in history. Not because of the war you were forced into nor for the cowardly country you went up against, but for your unity, bravery, and loyalty. Never in my life could I have imagined that a President would be on the frontline defending his country. That in itself speaks volumes about the type of people who are defending their nation. Citizens using every method possible to defend and hold back soldiers from attacking. You've all truly become an inspiration to the world and this world will stands behind you.

In just a few days this war has reshaped life as we once knew it. The unthinkable is becoming a reality. Switzerland who has spent over 500 years being neutral has stepped up to the plate. Heavy economic sanctions being put into place from world leaders. Credit cards, social medias, clothes brands, internet, furniture stores, and list could go on, all for the sake of peace. Yet, as the day comes to a close, a mad man, a bully still rages war. He truly has never considered what the repercussions his people will have to face because of his greed.

On a personal note, I don't want war. However, I don't want to see innocent people die in an unprovoked war either. I can only pray that Ukraine gets approved for the EU quickly to end this or at least get more help to stand it's ground. I do realize that it could cause WW3 and possibly war at my front door, but if that is the price I'd have to pay for peace, then I'm willing.

God bless Ukraine and all the people fighting for peace.

I think your words on this matter at hand describes many people's feelings. This speaks volumes on your talent as a writer. This includes my own feelings as well. You may not be carrying a rifle but, used your best talent to reflect a universal idea of standing against tyranny and supporting humanity as a whole. Maybe this conflict could be a big step in world unification. Thank you for your contribution to it. I believe statements like yours have a profound influence towards that goal.
